You wanted my first reaction? Well, the word "vagina" sure got my attention, but knowing you, I knew you had something important to share with us so I read on eagerly.

FGM is probably one of the cruelest things done to a woman and I am so glad you brought awareness to this terrible custom. We each have to, in our own small way, do something to combat this. For starters, I am going watch the movie "V-DAY: UNTIL THE VIOLENCE STOPS", thanks very much for the heads up and for your post.

I remember talking to you about this right after Valentines Day. I definitely need to see the movie.
When I lived in Michigan I loved going to see The Vagina Monologues on Valentines Day.

I only learned that TT was being discontinued today. So sad...

I saw the Vagina Monologues and I never laughed or cried so much in the space of 2 hours.

With the word Vagina out there you caught my attention and I raised a brow. I don't often see it used in the way you present it today. I worked in a hospital and one of the nurses I worked with spent some time in Africa. She had several patients of FGM... The stories she told were frightful.

I'm thankful it's not a common practice in our country.

Thursday Thirteen has been fun and I'm sorry to see it go.

Ok i think you are allowed a free pass to talk about vagina, when using it to highlight awareness on this topic!

Every time I hear about FGM, my skin crawle!! I cannot imagine the pain that those girls go through!! I am so proud to be catholic and those live in Canada!!
And even if I knew thing about FGM, you gave me more information... It made me realise that it is worst than I thought!!
